Are you looking for a lovely black and white cat?

‘Fred’ is a very friendly male cat found in the courtyard around 4 days ago. We took him to the Vet to get him checked over. He is not microchipped, is about one year old, has not been spayed and is in very good health. He has a beautiful coat. He’s also quite small for his age, and is extremely affectionate. We have looked for his owner to no avail and fear he might have been dumped. If you, or anyone you know, is looking to get a cat, ‘Fred’ is a perfect choice. Unfortunately we can’t keep him as we’re leaving the country in 2 weeks time.

contact me via email on willow [at] doublevay [dot] com or telephone my flat on 0208 985 2344.

Once you meet him you’ll fall in love instantly.

Parking Space in Eastside Academy for sale

Hello fellow residents.

I have a very secure parking space out in the ‘bombshelter’ on institute place and am looking to sell it. The space entitles you to a share in eastside parking ltd. as well as a position of director on the board at Eastside Academy. I am willing to hand over my shares at no cost, the reason being I am leaving the country in two months and am looking for a quick handover.

If you are interested please contact me:

Fat black & white cat…called Jones

Hey
I had various messages on the black board..going to calling the RSPCA. Not sure what all of this is about. Jones is a fattish black and white cat living in flat #19 with Joana and Meret. He gets the food he is allowed and if he is begging for food please do not give him any. He likes to talk alot… and hopefully does not annoy you. Joana

Handy Man??

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good odd job guy, I’ve heard there is someone that regularly does jobs in the building?

Its simple stuff really, putting up shelves, door handles, and if possible fitting locks to internal doors, and door hanging…

If anyone knows of anyone, please let me know!!

Thank you!

Updated

Hello everyone. I’ve just updated the blogging system to the latest version. With this update comes a new design and user interface for the admin. So don’t be scared if you don’t recognise it.

Other updates:

Due to the fact of massive amounts of registration spam, i’ve installed a “Unlock” form feature when you register. This is to ensure that a human is entering a form and not a spam-robot.

I’ve also deleted a lot if existing users. Mainly the once that appear as obvious spam entries. But if your username or email looked random , you may have been deleted. Sorry. Just register again and this time use a less obscure usename.

A good practice when you register is to login and update your profile with your first name, last name and nickname. Ideally including your flat number in one of the fields. This way i can be sure you belong to the building.

Enjoy.

bike parking…..(contentious issue, I know)

Is there any support behind the idea of installing a secure bike park within the ‘compound’ somewhere?

A smaller scale version of one of the parks at train stations perhaps? I don’t really want to keep my bike(s) indoors but neither do I want my tyres slashed if I keep them tethered inside the building, to cause an evacuation disaster, to be billed by Craptree or generally be a bad neighbour.

Without evoking more fury, could we find a solution to this do we think?

There must be room somewhere?

Could we all (bike folk) contribute to one of the advertised parking spaces on a mothly basis, get a rack installed and do it that way?? (are they actual garages??)

Any ideas?

We are experience severe main waste pipes issues

UPDATE: The waste pipe has now been unblocked.

Seems like one of the main waste pipes for the building is blocked somewhere and is causing water leakage. Flat 1 (basement) had a waste pipe that leaked, Flat 7 (ground floor) have a sink that gets filled up by someone’s washing machine waste, and Flat 34 (basement) have several leakages coming trough the celling.

Just phoned Crabtree, and, unfortunately, their answering machine message wasn’t much of help… phone 0208 371 7070 and have a listen…

Anyway.

I don’t know which flats are connected to the blocked waste pipe. If you think your one of them, please use water sparely and look out for leakages. Should be flat’s allocated in the middle of the main building.

If anyone else are experiencing problems, please leave a comment below.
